Woody GuthrieWoody Guthrie, natural Woodrow Wilson Guthrie, was bornin Okemah, Oklahoma in 1912. When he was 16 he began to fit around the United States (Feather 428). He had agreat love for harmony and soon began writing his own songsab show up the Great Depression and the discourse of the migrantworkers, who were forced to move west because of the DustBowl. His music greatly influenced many people across thecountry. However, Woody never let the fame go to his head.
